If you are on twitter and even if you aren’t, people may be talking about you or your practice, if you are a lawyer. And if you have a business, they may be talking about your business. One thing you have to do is to track what is being said about you. And like so many other things about twitter, there is a tool or two to do just that.
I use two such applications. The first one is TweetBeep. I have it set to watch my twitter ID, @GrantGriffiths, two of my blogs, Home Office Warrior and Blog for Profit and my companies name, G2 Web Media.
Be the first to know who’s twittering about you, your products, your company, or your website! TweetBeep. gives you twitter alerts by email when a tweet matches your search! You can even check for mentions of your site, even if the link is shortened (like through TinyURL). And it’s free!
The other application I use is Tweet Scan. With this app you can actually follow just about anything you want. However, I use it in a similar fashion as TweetBeep and set it to follow those search terms that may affect me and my company.
Both of these applications notify me via email when there is a positive hit on my search terms.
By using both of these tools, I am alerted anytime, anyone tweets about any of the search terms I have used. And knowing when this occurs gives me the ability to deal with anything that may be negative. It also gives me the opportunity to see when we are mentioned and gives me a chance to join in on the conversations.
