		<description>I use Ping.fm for both shortening URLs and posting pix to Twitter (bonus - it&#039;ll also post the shortened URL to Delicious, send the post to Facebook, and send photos to Flickr and FB), but I also like bit.ly (which has a handy bookmarklet you can drag to your Firefox bookmark bar for posting URLs directly to Twitter). Bit.ly has the advantage of allowing you to set custom URLs (though I haven&#039;t made that work with the aforementioned bookmarklet), and will show you how many people have clicked not only your shortened URL, but everyone else&#039;s version of the same URL.

I use TwitterFox for general posting/reading (because most of my work is done in Firefox), and TinyTwitter for remote posting/reading. ceTwit also has some very nice features (and supports Twitpic), but TinyTwitter just appealed more to me (in a very scientific, &quot;I don&#039;t know, I just like it!&quot; kind of way).</description>
