We just finished up week 1 of 31-Days to Kick Your Blog in the Butt and I just want to thank all of you for your involvement. We have a good group of bloggers and soon to be bloggers and the feedback and comments have been great. I can’t express my appreciation enough for all of the great comments we have been getting. The conversations taking place on each post has been great. And exactly what I was hoping would happen. We can all learn a lot from each other.
I wanted to take a moment to give you all a quick update on a few of the key points of the series.
Links of the last weeks post – you all are busy and just in case you missed any of last weeks post, here is a list of the post for you to use.
- Just because you can doesn’t mean you should
- Be a proactive blogger, not a stick in the mud
- Find the conversations in your niche or target market
- Listen to the conversations in your niche or target market

- Empower or encourage your blog readers to get involved in the conversation
- Send an email to a commenter today
Tips for taking advantage of the series – I know some of you are not able to get to each lesson each and every day, not to worry. 31-Days to Kick Your Blog in the Butt is set to push out lessons and task daily. And if you are getting our emails, those are being handled by our auto-responder. What I would suggest you do is set up a folder for the emails to go to so they are saved. That way, each post will have a link in the emails. We are putting a task at the end of each one of the emails too. So you should be able to follow along as you can. Some of the task are short, some a bit longer. Do them as you can. The main thing to consider and keep in mind, taking part in the series is a lot more important then trying to keep up with the schedule. Do it at your pace.
Also, due to a lot of the comments we are getting about how much information and homework you are getting, we are seriously looking at putting the entire series in an ebook or some other format. This will enable anyone to do the 31-days at their own pace anytime. And go back to review each one in a central location.
You can join in at any time – There is no need to worry either if you did not get in on the first day of the series. We have it set up so you can join in at any time. Again, we are using our auto-responder to send out emails on a daily basis, no matter when you join. What this means to those you missed the actual start date is you will start at day 1 no matter when you come in.
Missing Emails – I am sorry to say that for some reason a number of those who have signed up for the email updates are not getting them. There are a number of reasons this may be happening:
- New signups – if you happen to sign up after October 1st, it takes up to 24 hours for the sequence of daily emails to start. Those new signups will be put into the dequence where you’ll be sent daily emails starting on Day 1 of the series. This also means you are a little behind the main group who signed up before the series was officially launched. But don’t worry, you will not miss anything the main group has covered already.
- Spam filtering and folders – some have found our emails in their spam folders. Please double check if you are not receiving all of the emails as you should. If you find us there, please mark us as “not spam” and you should start to get the emails with no problems.
- Missing confirmations – after reviewing our list of subscribers, there are some of them who have not confirmed their participation in the series by clicking a link in the email which we sent you right after you signed up. Because we use a double opt-in confirmation, we need this to be done before we can send you anything else. Please search for this and click the link. This email may be in your spam/junk folder.
Delays in Emails – a few of you have expressed concerns that you are seeing the post on Blog For Profit for days, but don’t get emails until hours or in some cases, even days later. As we mentioned above, the main reason for this is that emails are sent out in a sequence. Most people are reporting this problem have signed up since the series started and will be a day or two behind the main group. You’ll get the emails eventually but will be taken to the start of the sequence of the emails.
Others of you are reporting shorter delays, will unfortunately just have to wait as we don’t have complete control over when the emails will be sent and/or delivered. Aweber queues these autoresponder emails so thy go out usually 1 to 3 hours after the posts go live. I have attempted to set the delivery so they go out right after the post go live, but it does not always happen. Let me just say that even with this issue, I would not use any other autoresponder than Aweber.
