SEO Copywriting Made Simple With Scribe

ZZ2170D950.jpgA little over two weeks ago, Brian Clark of Copyblogger contacted me about a new SEO tool he was coming out with. Once Brian told me about it and actually gave me a beta copy to try out I was simply amazed.

We have been using it on BFP now for over a week. It is called Scribe SEO, “and it makes SEO copywriting simple.” You can create search engine optimized web pages, blog posts and even press releases. And it is quick.

I am sure you know we are firm believers in making the most out of your opportunities to optimize your blog post. And I know you have seen the post we and others have written about SEO here on BFP. Scribe SEO is exactly what you need to kick your SEO in the butt and move your blog to the next level.

What is also very exciting for us, Headway is a supported WordPress Theme for Scribe.

What is Scribe SEO

The following description is taken directly from the Scribe About page.

Scribe is an SEO software service for WordPress that analyzes the content of web pages, blog posts, online press releases, you name it… at the click of a button.

The Scribe API then reports back to the WordPress interface and tells web writers, bloggers, affiliate marketers, and small business owners how to tweak their content to get more search engine traffic, all while maintaining quality reader-focused copy.

It’s like having an SEO expert as an editorial assistant.

What’s innovative about Scribe is in the way it differs from typical SEO tools. Instead of asking you for a keyword phrase and then pushing you to construct content around it, Scribe:

  • Analyzes what you’ve already written, preserving your natural flow
  • Reveals what search engines will think you’re writing about
  • Suggests changes to better reflect the language searchers are using
  • Guides you through remaining content elements based on SEO best practices

With Scribe you’ll:

  • Optimize content faster
  • Eliminate guesswork about keywords
  • Employ SEO best practices
  • Preserve maximum readability
  • Increase targeted traffic!

Scribe SEO works with WordPress if you’re able to fill in a custom title tag and meta description for the post or page. While Scribe was originally developed for Thesis Theme for WordPress users, it also works with the free All in One SEO plugin, the Hybrid theme, and Headway.

How Scribe Works

Scribe Content Optimizer.jpgScribe SEO is very innovative in how it does work. Most SEO tools ask you for a keyword phrase and then attempts to guide you to construct content around it. Scribe actually takes what you have written and tells you what search engines will think you are writing about. It also tells you what you need to change to make it better. And it helps you tweak the remaining content elements around those SEO best practices.

Once you have written your post, Scribe SEO will check to make sure you have an optimized title in your custom title field. It also checks to make sure you have included a meta description. Keep in mind your meta description is what appears under your page title in the search results.

After you hit the Analyze button you see in the image to the right, you will get a display like this one. This is actually from one of my own post after I used Scribe and you will see I hit a 99% content score thanks to the plugin.

And this is the MONEY shot. You get an amazing Keyword Analysis of your content too:

How much is this going to cost?

Scribe SEO does require an investment. And Brian has once again done it right. He is rewarding the early adopters with the best possible pricing he can offer.

Scribe comes in 3 different plan levels at 3 different monthly price points:

  • Advanced: 300 evaluations a month (around 100 pages or posts) for $97
  • Publisher: 120 evaluations a month (around 40 pages or posts) for $47
  • Starter: 30 evaluations a month (around 10 pages or posts) for $27

However, until February 19, 2009 at 6 p.m. Central time, you can get the Advanced plan for the Starter price of $27 per month. What is amazing about Brian’s offer is the fact you get to keep that price for as long as you “stick with Scribe.”

Get Scribe SEO today and publish blog post which are better optimized and gets you moving up in the search engines.

Disclosure: Brian did give me a beta version to Scribe and the above post also contains affiliate links. You can be assured of one thing. I have been using Scribe on my own blogs and it is amazing and works just like they say.

Grant, thanks for the heads-up on Scribe. I am now using it for several clients. The most important feature for me is that it really gets me thinking. I didn't always take the time to optimize posts, but Scribe is a great tool to help me remember to do each and every post the best that I can.
I see tremendous value for me because it will help me improve my writing and optimizing abilities.
  • Hey Steve. Glad it is working well for you too. I am really liking what it can do to help people focus on good writing.
  • Hi Grant, I've been using this for a few days and it looks fantastic. However there are teething problems, on one site it gives a fatal error, another every post is 78% regardless of what I change, and even on the one it works on it warns me that my title is 160 characters and therefore longer than the recommended 165. Of course with any software there are bugs and errors, especially early on so I won't hold that against them, as it does look awesome. I do think it is a little expensive though when at regular pricing.
  • I would make sure to let support know at Scribe you had those issues. As for price. I have to say I have seen tremendous value in what it has done for me and my post. I was amazed at how it helped me kick the SEO up on the individual post even more than I could do with what we had already done.
  • Yes, I will do, good point. I can see the immense value in it, I'm just thinking of a blogger who posts 5 times a week paying over a $1 per post to use the plugin. Of course that $1 could convert to many times it's value due to the benefit of the plugin yet it could be a barrier for people adverse to paying monthly fees for another service. Out of interest, how have you measured the (theoretical) ROI of the plugin in terms of traffic/sales?
  • Too early to to know if more sales are in. But I can tell you that traffic to post has increased from search engines after using the plugin.

I agree for some the price may be too much. But for those serious about blogging and using it to promote and market a business, Scribe will return way more than it cost.
