Whilst I have never been asked details when signing up to a RSS feed or newsletter, I think some blogs do use tactics to find out the information you are asking. Often you see blogs with surveys about age, and careers.

If Teens fit then you should be paying attention. If they don't fit, then you should keep your eye on them because some day they're going to fit - don't be naive to that fact.
