How to Enjoy Blogging More

images.jpegNorthxEast had a post today about Six Simple Things You can Do To Enjoy Blogging More. The post is a timely one as I have had such discussions lately with bloggers that they are not enjoying blogging like they did 6 months or even a year ago.

There are pressures to write posts as often as you can. Move your blog up in the search engines and increase your Google PageRank. As NorthxEast states, enjoying blogging will in turn increase the quality of your blogging.

Here is the list:

  1. Keep track of milestones.
  2. Structure blogging around your family and social life.
  3. Find your favorite place to blog.
  4. Get to know your readers.
  5. Add an income stream to your blog.
  6. Engage with other bloggers.

I would like to touch on a couple of these. First, “find a favorite place to blog.” One of my favorite places to work and blog is my local coffee shop. Since I work from a home office, I find the interaction and human connect I get at the coffee shop rejuvenates me and gets me going. If you are struggling with your blogging, try getting out of the office and go somewhere different.

Next is engaging with other bloggers. This is one I make a point to do on a daily basis. From emailing a fellow blogger about something to commenting on their blog. And in a couple of cases, we either get on the phone or Skype and have a chat. This is also a great way to bounce things off of each other. Again, since some of us work from a home office, this exchange between ourselves and other bloggers takes the place of the “water cooler talk.”

All of the items in the list are important. Before you start writing your next blog post, take a moment to consider each of them and how they might apply to you.
