Creating Effective Post – Keep Post Easy to Read

Dock-1.jpgRecently there have been some really great post by some wonderful new bloggers. And it is exciting to see these bloggers so excited about blogging and what it can do for them and their business. However, if there is one mistake I see some of these new bloggers making, it is they don’t stop and think about their readers.

If you are writing your blog to get the attention of the general public, don’t write like you are writing a technical journal or a professional journal. You need to remember to write to your audience.

Write your post in a clear and concise fashion. You want your readers to be able to easily follow what you are trying to tell them.

Be aware of the post formatting

One of the key points a lot of new bloggers forget or don’t even consider is how people read when looking at their browser. Web readers tend to scan when they read. I know this because I ask people how they read when looking at a web page. And I know because this is how I tend to read sometimes too.

What you have to do as a blogger is get your readers to stop and read your post. And formatting them so they are easy to read is key.

You need to use:

  • bullet points
  1. numbered paragraphs

sub-headings

bold text

and shorter paragraphs

Make your post easy to scan so your visitors stop and become readers.
