You just spent the better part of an afternoon research, drafting and doing a final edit on a blog post you just know is going to knock their socks off. But, you are not sure how to get it noticed. You don’t want to have that feeling come tomorrow morning you just wasted your time publishing this new work of art you have been working on. So, what do you do?

This is why it is so important to build that network of other bloggers and thought leaders we have discussed before. This is why you have to engage in the conversations going on in your market and your niche. This is why you have to take advantage of the proactive marketing efforts of blogging.

If you have done your work networking with other bloggers, this is where you can ask them for help. In other words, get them talking about you and your new post. By now, you should have developed a relationship with other bloggers in your niche. In addition, if you have been following my other advice, you should be on twitter too. If you have, you should not hesitate to ask for help. Ask your network of bloggers and your followers on twitter to give you a little help in getting you noticed. Ask them to blog about your blog post. And don’t be afraid to ask them to hit StumbleUpon it for you too.

Your followers on twitter are also a great place to go for help in getting a new post noticed too. You can ask them to “retweet” it for you. And if you are doing the same for them, they will not hesitate in returning the favor.

Just like other areas of your business marketing, networking in the social media arena is a great way to get help with your marketing. And the network you build in this social media arena is one of the best ways of getting them to talk about you too. However, don’t expect something for nothing. When you are asked for the same help, return the favor. In other words, “pay in advance.”
