I almost forgot to do this post. But, I wanted to give you a list of some of the best post we had here on BFP. The “best of” is based on comments and views on the post. And, a couple of them might be based on my own likes too. I hope you enjoy digging into them again.
Just a side-note. The new design for BFP is coming along nicely and we are getting very excited to unwrap it for you very soon. We will be trying a couple new features and we will want your input on them too. If you don’t like them, tell us. We certainly won’t be offended.
Here you go with the best of for 2009:
- Focus on a Niche and Be the Best You Can Be I am a big proponent of niche blogging. In other words, picking a niche and blogging about it. Staying focused on this one niche and “crushing it.”…
- Twitter is not about you, so get over yourself While I was getting ready to head to New York City a couple of weeks ago for WordCamp NY, I was puzzled and a bit PO’d at a tweet I saw. What I was most irritated with was the fact this particular person, who was “teaching” others about twitter..
- 3 Simple Words That Are Destroying Your Blog This is just one of the installments from Corey Freeman on BFP. In fact, Corey will be a regular contributor in 2010 and we are excited to see what she will add for our readers.
- How a Kitchen Timer Helps My Blog Tina Hilton was a regular contributor in 2009 and will have an even bigger role in 2010 here at BFP. We are also working on a couple of projects together which will provide some very valuable resources to a certain group of people. Be watching for details soon.
- There is no such thing as a shortcut to a successful blog Over the last week or so I have had the unpleasant experience of watching as a so called “marketing firm” uses some rather awful “SEO tricks.” Why have I been watching this? Mainly because they have sold their bag of snake oil to one of our blogsite design clients…
- 31 Days to Kick Your Blog in the Butt – Final summary and thoughts This post gave you a summary and run down of the post we did in our October series, 31 days to kick your blog in the butt. The entire series landed a lot of comments, tweets and emails. It was fun to do too. As you know, we took the series and made it into an ebook and workbook.
- Why I Don’t Care if Teens Aren’t Using Twitter (and Why You Shouldn’t Care, Either) Just one of the guest post Michael Martine gave me this year. If you don’t read his blog, Remarkablogger, shame on you.
- Retweeting on the rise, linking and commenting is declining and we are all just too lazy Recently Louis Gray had a post on his blog called As Retweeting Rises, Linking Continues to Decline. The post went live on July 4th and I let it set in my open tabs on my browser all weekend. I was really trying to decide how I felt about the post and whether…
- Saying Blogging is Dead is Such Complete BS I am always lost for a reason some of those who are considered the “big boys” need to make the statement every few months that blogging is dead. Or that they are leaving blogging behind for greener pastures. Quite frankly, I think it is complete bullshit…
- I Dare You To Ask Your Clients or Customers To Follow You On Twitter One of the dumbest statements I hear business and/or professional services firms say is that they don’t want their clients or customers following them on twitter. Huh!?! Do you communicate with your clients and/or customers when they come into your business or offices? Do you talk to them when you see them…
- Categories? Tags? Good grief, I don’t know what to do… Based on the number of questions and comments I have been getting about whether a blogger should use categories or tags in their blog post, I thought it best to just do a post on it. While I do appreciate the fact there are other blogging platforms, this post is going to focus on WordPress…
- You Have to Connect With Your Readers to Keep Them When we look at our blogs and the “traffic” we get to our blogs, it is my position we should break that traffic down into two distinct categories…
- Is RSS a complete failure? One of the blogs I have in my own RSS reader and one I read each time Martin Neumann post something new is Home Office Voice. Today in a post, Martin made a statement in his post that really caught my attention…
- 12 Ways to Rock Your Business or Firm’s Marketing Plan with a Blog One of the bloggers I follow and read daily is John Haydon who has a great blog called Corporate Dollar. John writes about using social media marketing for small non-profits. However, what I have found is that almost everything he writes can be applied to any business, even those who operate for a…
There you go. Some of the best of post we had here on BFP during 2009. As I mentioned above. Be watching for the new design coming soon for BFP. Also, we are lining up a great list of guest posters for the month of January which I know you are going to enjoy.
Finally, let’s all go out in 2010 and kick some series butt. And I hope BFP can be a part of how you make your blogging successful in 2010 too.
Thanks to each and everyone of you for reading, subscribing to and commenting on BFP this past year. Without each of you, there would be no reason at all to put the time and effort into posting on and maintaining BFP. Thank you!!!
