If you are going to be on twitter, be on twitter. Jump in and participate in the conversations going on around you. Listen to the conversations and don’t be afraid to add you own take on what is being said. For the most part, that is why most of us are on twitter. We want to learn and interact with those we follow and who follow us.
When I say, if you are going to be on twitter, be on twitter. If you don’t use it and you don’t participate, don’t expect much from twitter.

Well stated. It takes time to get used to it and I would encourage folks tu use Twitter for more than just promoting the business. Personalizing your thoughts on a game, the news, a trip, etc., ultimately sharing information whether light-hearted or serious works well.
