Using Twitter Search to Follow a Search Term You Are Interested In –– Day 14 of Twitter Tips and Hints

Not only is twitter a great communication tool. And a great way to network with other like minded people. Twitter is also a great search tool. Using twitter search, you can actually search for any search term that might be discussed on twitter at any given moment.

For businesses on twitter, the first search string you should be watching is your own business name and/or niche. Remember that bad news travels at the speed of light and good news travels slow. If there are issues with your service or product, and people are talking about it on twitter, you have to know about it. You can use a tool like twitter search to follow the discussions about your business, product or service.

You can also use twitter search to follow search terms of your niche you might want to follow. I typed in the search term “blog for profit” as indicated below in the image I have included. As you can see there are some mentions of the blog and of others just talking about blog for profit.

Using twitter search is a great way to get live updates on any search term you might be interested in. In some cases, twitter search may be better than even Google search since it is a live indication of what people are saying about that term.

If any of you are using other search tools on twitter, please leave your comments with your suggestions. Let’s keep the conversation going.
