Like most people, some bloggers spend too much time paying too much attention to the numbers in their blog’s stats. While I am not saying you shouldn’t look at your “numbers” from time to time. There is a lot of other great information in your stats which you should be taking advantage of. As we continue our series 28 Days Build a Successful Blog, lets explore this one little trick that will get you some great results.
What are your visitors searching for?
That is the question you should be trying to ascertain from your stats. Early in my blogging efforts, I quickly discovered a great feature of most blogging platforms. The stats page. However, what I found most useful in this page was not the numbers, but the search terms people were using to find my blogs. If I was not showing up on the first page for those search terms, I would take that information and do a post or two using those search terms as questions and answering them with my post.
It wasn’t long before I started to show up on the first page for those search terms. Why? I was answering the questions they were looking for answers to. Yes, it really is that easy. And this is why I tell all those I coach and our clients, take the questions you get every single day in your office and answer them with blog post.
Dig into your blog’s stats, but not just for the numbers. Look at what people are searching for and if you are not on the first page of Google, take those search terms and answer their questions. You will be amazed at the results. Not only will you move up in the search engines. You will see an increase in your readership. By doing these type of post you are answering their questions and they will continue to come back time and time again.
