Give Your Readers a Post on How They Can Use Your Blog More

Toolbelt.jpgFor today’s edition of 28 Days to Build a Successful Blog, I want to suggest something I did myself on Blog For Profit when I did a post called, “Ways to Make Blog For Profit More Useful for You.”

What I found by doing this one post, our subscribers went up and people seemed to spend more time on the blog looking around. Here are the 7 suggestions I gave our readers:

  • Don’t forget about the search box
  • Subscribe by either email or RSS feed
  • Blog For Profit Newsletter
  • If you have a topic you would like me to post on, please tell me
  • Please ask if you would like to guest post
  • Connecting with me, Grant
  • Please feel free to distribute our post to others

By giving your readers such a list, it is almost like you are giving them permission to do those things. Like many of the post in our series, 28 Days to Build a Successful Blog, this one is also not long and is really a basic idea. However, usually the short post with the basic ideas are some of the best things we can do to improve our blogs. Give it a try and let us know how it worked for you.

Leave your comments here too with any other ideas you have which you could include in such a post to help your visitors use your blog even more.

Also don’t forget to subscribe to the Blog For Profit Newsletter. We include information in the newsletter we don’t feature here on the blog. And when you subscribe, you get a free copy of our eBook , Blogging Tips to Help You Blog.

Hi, I run a Word Press blog - how do I get readers to subscribe by email?

Philip Heskethu00c2u00b4s last blog post..ATE insurance and mediation costs

Phillip -- I visited your blog and there were a couple of things I saw you could change. First of all, your RSS subscription option is on the bottom of the blog. Move it to the top. You mention you would like to get more readers to subscribe to your blog via email. You are not giving them the option to subscribe by email. You might check out Google's Feedburner and set up the code for your blog and put the html code on your blog too. This will give your readers the option to subscribe either by RSS feed or Email.

Ask your readers if they have any questions they want to ask you. It will help them get more out of your blog, by helping them to learn more about you and the particular niche they are interested in (and you blog about). It will also help you by giving you readers and commenters, as that is something that you want to build your blog.
