Create a Twitter Landing Page

Toolbelt.jpgAs we continue with our series 28 Days to a Successful Blog, I want to hit on one thing I did which has actually helped to keep some visitors on my blog longer. However, before we get started we need to make a few assumptions.

  1. You are already blogging and have a blog.
  2. You are already on twitter and have it setup so you are getting followers
  3. You are already using twitter in a somewhat correct way
  4. Even though you are using twitter, you would like to get even ore benefit from it

If you are not falling into these assumptions, I still want you to read this post and be thinking about it. We will be doing a new series in the very near future on all the nuts and bolts of using twitter.

Twitter Landing Page

Sometime back I setup my own twitter landing page. What this is in a nutshell is a page in my blog which can only be arrived at by using the link in my twitter profile. It is a page I specifically wrote to provide information to those who find me through twitter.

What I soon discovered using this page as a place for my twitter followers to go is those who visited the page seems to not stop on my twitter landing page. They were going to other areas of my blog and reading what I was writing in other post and in other pages.

The wonderful thing about most of the blogging platforms now is the feature of Pages. In WordPress for example, you can construct a Page which looks very similar to a blog post. However, you can have it act more like a static web page. This is how I constructed my twitter landing page. It is simple a Page in my blog.

I have discussed using a twitter landing page before. Both here on Blog For Profit and especially on twitter. What I have found is that those who have constructed their own landing page have seen some of the same results as I have. Your twitter visitors tend to stay longer and visit more pages and post on your blog.

You need to consider setting up this one page and you will see what it might do for you.
