As we get closer to winding down our series 28 Days to Build a Successful Blog I wanted to touch on another one of those housekeeping matters many of us overlook.
How many times have you visited a blog, read through the post and wondered where the links were to the outside sources they mentioned. They are there, you just can’t see them.
Don’t Hide Your Outgoing Links
When you set up your blog make sure you set the outgoing links in your blog post to show up clearly so people can see them. One way I like to do this is to use a different color for the links. While the color we are using on this blog is not real defined, it is just enough so you should see it. I for one find it distracting when a more extreme color difference is used.

Some simple use an underline to highlight the link. Usually this is not enough for some, but it does work. If I had my choice, I would use a color that highlights.

I know this tip may seem like another one of those very basic ones. And it is. But it is also one of the design flaws many of us overlook. I know because the bottom image is from one of my own blogs. Needless to say, we will be changing this soon.
